In High School Graphics students use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create graphics focusing on typography, principles of design, and contemporary design.

Portfolio of work will include:

Assignments

  1. Introduction to Typography
    • Video Segment Typography about Language. Poem by Talor Mali
    • Video Segment Typefaces gives us Signals
    • Create a word document with 3 graphics from MYFONTS.COMinclude price in the caption and use MLA standard heading.
    • Create a one page Flyer describing the What, Where, Why is Lorem Ipsum
    • After installing new Fonts create a 8 X 8 inch square designed using only text.
  2. Using Illustrator
    • Type on a Path Video Segment
    • Create and print a one page document using Adobe Illustrator. Use interesting quotes that my say something about PATHS.

  7. Calendar Project
    • This project is to show and practice what you have been learning in Graphic Arts.
    • You have twelve pages 17 x 14 to design or six pages double sided.
    • Use as many applications as you can to create well designed pages.
    • Possiblilities include but are not limited to: Creating Titles, Photoframes, scanning images, taking photos with the camera, all the tutorials we have done in class redone with content for the month.
    • Include a digital image, scanned image and Text done in multiple ways (i.e. Don't use Publisher as a text editor).
  8. What is Graphic Arts?
    • Look through the magizines, books and websites that have been supplied.
    • Using the content and pictures that you found create a document that expresses "What is Graphic Arts?"
    • Your document should include:
      • the resources used
      • the reason you found the Graphics interesting
      • what kind of an education (i.e., classes) would you need to be a professional Graphic Designer
      • What did you find out about the history of Graphic Design?
      • Who are some graphic designers that you admire their work?
